Daily Themed Crossword is PlaySimple Games' daily crossword, built around a fresh theme every day. It is deliberately gentler than a newspaper cryptic — clues are direct, abbreviations are flagged, and multi-word answers are marked with hints such as "2 wds." — which makes it a favourite for players who want a crossword habit without the Saturday-broadsheet difficulty spike. The catch is volume: it has published every single day since October 21, 2017, so finding one specific past date in the app is close to impossible.
That is what this archive is for. It covers all three parts of the game. The daily crossword is the main grid, around 66 clues per puzzle, archived across 3,216 dates. The mini is the shorter companion puzzle released alongside it, usually ten clues, with 2,814 dates on file. The themed packs are the bonus sets unlocked inside the app rather than tied to a calendar date; there are 202 of them here, ranging from around 110 clues to well over 600, and between them they account for 58,679 clues.
Every page is generated from the puzzle data itself, so the totals quoted above are simply what is on file: 6,232 puzzles and 299,620 clues. If you are stuck on today's grid, open the newest date from the daily archive; if a clue came from a bonus set, the pack index lists all 202 by name. Nothing here needs an account, and no puzzle is held back behind a sign-up.

Read the abbreviation flags
"Abbr." in a clue means the answer is shortened, and "2 wds." means it runs two words together with no space. Both are reliable, so they narrow the letter count before you write anything.
Start with the theme entries
Each day's grid is built around one idea, and the longest across answers usually carry it. Spot the theme and the long slots often fill from meaning alone.
Do the mini first
The mini shares the day's theme in about ten clues. Solving it is a fast way to learn what the setter is driving at before you tackle the full grid.

Tips for Tricky Daily Themed Crossword Boards
Solve the theme, not the clue
Every board is built around one idea and the themed entries take the longest slots. Two long answers are usually enough to work out what the theme is, and once you have it the remaining long clues stop being clues at all.
Short answers are the currency
Three- and four-letter fills are the cheapest squares on the grid and each one hands letters to every long entry it crosses. When a themed clue will not come, take the short ones around it first.

How we verify every board and pack
Nothing here is typed from memory. Dated boards are captured on the day they run and packs are read from their own stored files, with clue wording kept verbatim and every answer length-checked against its grid slot. A nightly job adds each new date and re-checks the run for missing days.

How to Solve a Daily Themed Crossword
How the daily and mini grids are built, and the order that solves them.
Read the theme before the clues
Daily Themed Crossword builds every puzzle around one idea, and the long entries almost always belong to it. Knowing the theme turns those from cold clues into a guessing game with a very short list.
Fill the short crossings first
Three and four letter answers use the most predictable vocabulary in the whole grid. Each one you place hands letters to the long clues for free, which is a better use of the first minute than staring at the hardest entry.
Abbreviations are signposted
A clue ending in "Abbr." or containing its own abbreviation is telling you the answer is short and clipped. The same goes for "Hyph." and "2 wds." — the clue format is half the answer.
