About

About the Spirit Pack

The Word Craze Hard Mode Spirit pack is one of 35 virtue packs in Word Craze Hard Mode, published by Betta Games. It contains 12 levels. The longest answer in this pack is RESIDENTIAL at 11 letters; the average answer runs 4.9 letters across all clues.

Hard Mode clues use abstract or indirect language rather than direct picture descriptions. Where a standard Word Craze clue might show a photograph of what you need to name, a Hard Mode clue describes the subject through analogy, function, or a creative angle. That shift in difficulty is what defines Hard Mode throughout all 35 packs. Use the level grid above to jump to any level, or move to adjacent packs using the navigation. Each level page lists all clues and answers plus a word-by-word letter breakdown.

All 12 Spirit levels are documented here. Return to the Hard Mode hub for all 35 packs, or visit the Word Craze hub for the main game.

5 Tips for Cracking Hard Mode Clues

Hard Mode drops the picture and doubles the wordplay. These five habits cut through the indirect clue language that makes the Hard Mode packs tougher than the main game.

1

Ignore your first instinct if it is a literal reading. Hard Mode clues are never straight definitions — they describe a concept through category, function, or comparison. If you reach for the obvious answer, pause and ask what category or property the clue is really pointing at. That reframe almost always surfaces the correct word.

2

Count the tiles before reasoning through the clue. Hard Mode answers can be longer or shorter than the word you first picture. Lock in the tile count from the blank row before you commit to any candidate — a seven-letter version of a four-letter concept is a completely different answer, and the length constraint alone often eliminates half the possibilities.

3

Work outward from crossing letters. Fill the short answers first on any Hard Mode board. Even one confirmed crossing letter slashes the valid candidates for a long answer. With three or four crossing letters in place, most seven-plus-letter answers resolve without any further reasoning.

4

Treat virtue-pack names as thematic hints. Each Hard Mode pack is named after a virtue — Balance, Courage, Wisdom, and so on. The clue vocabulary within that pack often echoes the pack's theme. Knowing you are inside the Wisdom pack nudges you toward knowledge, expertise, and insight vocabulary before you even read the clue text.

5

Use the Word Craze hub to cross-reference familiar clue patterns. The same concept sometimes appears in both standard levels and Hard Mode with different phrasing. Browsing the Level Browser for a topic you recognise from a Hard Mode clue often reveals the answer disguised in a simpler context — and once you see it that way, the Hard Mode version clicks.

How we check

Verified Answers, Not Guesses

How we verify these answers

Every answer on this page is read from the game's own puzzle data rather than retyped from another site, and is checked against what the board actually provides — so nothing listed can use a letter the level does not give you. The counts shown are computed from the stored data, not typed in by hand.
